Amber Kuchler has been appointed Academic Counselor at Farmingdale State College. She will advise students at the Academic Advisement and Information Center (AAIC). AAIC’s academic counselors provide the guidance students need when navigating college life, such as registering for classes. Counselors also help them apply for scholarships and graduate school.
Ms. Kuchler was a senior academic advisor at Briarcliffe College before joining Farmingdale. Before her experience at Briarcliffe she was a success coach with DeVry University. Her education includes a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from Long Island University and a bachelor's in psychology and human services from Mount Saint Mary College. She is a member of the Western Suffolk Counselors Association.
The Academic Advisement and Information Center (AAIC) is a hub of activity, support, and essential resources dedicated to assuring the academic success of all students at Farmingdale State College. With support from a Title III grant, Farmingdale established AAIC in the lower level of Greenley Library. The Center is open to students five days a week, 12 months a year, including evening hours.
