A look back at a groundbreaking 1978 Newsday series about the then-state and future of Long Island will be the subject of an open forum at Farmingdale State College on Wednesday, October 15. The event – “Long Island at the Crossroads Revisited: The Road to Progress” - begins at 7 pm in the Little Theater in Roosevelt Hall. Admission is free.
Moderated by Newsday senior editor Monte Young, the forum will review the predictions made in the series, and the progress and missteps made Island-wide over the last 36 years. The evening will feature contributors to the original 13-part series, as well as a panel of experts in the fields of education, health, and economic empowerment.
