FSC's Mathematics Department recently created its first microcredential in Financial Mathematics. Students can now apply for this unique credential to begin their coursework during the Fall 2021 semester by completing an application through the Etrieve system. Earners of the Financial Mathematics microcredential will receive a digital badge in which they can showcase the skills earned to potential, future employers.

This microcredential consists of a 3-course sequence focusing on quantitative finance.  Course work includes basic financial mathematics, continuous-time finance, and financial engineering.  Financial mathematics, which is sometimes known as quantitative finance, combines computational and analytic skills and employment opportunities range from being "quant" on Wall Street to risk management to actuarial science.
