Ms. Nateisha Reid has re-joined Farmingdale State College as a Counselor of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). Reid has over 14-years of higher education experience specializing in adult education and student services. She previously served as a Senior Counselor for the LIEOC. Ms. Reid holds a Bachelors degree from Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina and a Master's in Social Work from Stony Brook University. Reid also has an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University.
Alicia L Cesar joined Farmingdale as the Educational Opportunity Program Director in September 2019. Cesar has 18-years of higher education experience specializing in opportunity programs, developmental education, first-year experience, new student orientation, academic and student support services. Cesar recently earned her doctorate on March 4th, 2021, with a doctoral capstone entitled “The Effects of a Remote Pre-Freshman Summer Bridge Program: An Action Research Study.” Dr. Cesar earned a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Baruch College. In addition, Dr. Cesar has a Master’s and Bachelors from Stony Brook University.
The EOP at Farmingdale State College is designed to provide the opportunity of a college education to capable students who are historically disadvantaged due to limited financial resources and inadequate academic preparation. Throughout their years at Farmingdale, EOP students are provided ongoing support services and resources to help insure their collegiate success.
