Join the Office of DEI in wishing our vibrant and diverse campus community a Happy Lunar New Year filled with Happiness, Health, & Peace!
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion extends warm wishes to all members of the campus community as we welcome the Lunar New Year on February 17th, marking the beginning of the Year of the Horse. Across Chinese culture, and many cultures that celebrate the Lunar New Year, this season is a joyful time for gathering with loved ones, honoring traditions, and sharing hearfelt hopes for the year ahead.
The Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, represents renewal, good fortune, and the start of a fresh chapter. It is a moment filled with vibrant celebrations, family reunions, delicious foods, and meaningful customs such as exchanging greetings, offering well‑wishes, and giving red envelopes as symbols of luck and goodwill.
As we recognize this important holiday, we invite our campus community to join us in learning about the traditions that make the Lunar New Year so special and to celebrate the rich cultural diversity that strengthens our college. Whether you observe the holiday yourself or are supporting friends, classmates, or colleagues who do, this season encourages kindness, connection, and a spirit of togetherness.
To everyone celebrating, we wish you joy, peace, and prosperity in the Year of the
Horse.
Happy Lunar New Year!
