“There is no greater disability in society than the inability to see a person as more.” -- Robert M. Hensel, Poet and Guinness World Record Holder with spina bifida.

July marks Disability Pride Month, a time to honor the history, achievements, and contributions of people with disabilities, while also recognizing the ongoing work needed to build a truly inclusive and equitable society. At FSC, we are dedicated to cultivating and uplifting a campus culture where every individual has the opportunity to succeed.

Disability Pride is about embracing the diverse identities, talents, and experiences of individuals with disabilities. It challenges outdated stigmas and celebrates disability as a natural and valuable part of human diversity. This month, we reaffirm our commitment to accessibility, respect, and empowerment for all members of our campus community.

We encourage you to take this opportunity to learn more about disability rights, listen to the voices of disabled individuals, and reflect on how we can each contribute to a more inclusive environment. Throughout July, we invite you to participate in events, workshops, and conversations that highlight disability pride and advocacy. Let us come together to celebrate the strength, creativity, and resilience of the disability community.
