With over 25 years of experience in the field of early childhood education, Colleen Farrell has dedicated her career to supporting young children, families, educators, and early childhood systems. She holds a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education with a focus on adult learning and has served in a wide range of leadership and direct service roles throughout her career.
Her experience includes work as an early childhood classroom teacher, program director, coach, early childhood specialist, infant and toddler specialist, infant toddler regional manager, and program coordinator for the Infant Toddler Mental Health Consultation Project. From 2010–2024, she provided extensive leadership and support in infant and toddler-focused initiatives across diverse early childhood settings.
Colleen currently serves as a full-time lecturer at Farmingdale State College, where she oversees the credit-bearing CDA Microcredential program. In this role, she supports workforce development initiatives, student engagement, community partnerships, and pathways for early childhood professionals pursuing higher education and career advancement.
Colleen is a Master Cadre Trainer for the Pyramid Model, fully certified in the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC), and an approved New York State Health and Safety Trainer. She is passionate about workforce development, relationship-based practice, trauma-informed care, and supporting high-quality learning environments for young children and the professionals who care for them.
