2025 Day of Service: Engaged For A Sustainable Future
On April 22, 2025—Earth Day—the Office of Community and Civic Engagement (OCCE), in partnership with the Food Pantry and the Office of Sustainability, will host the 3rd annual Day of Service. April is National Volunteer Month and this year OCCE is building on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this year’s event highlights SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By bringing together campus and community partners, we aim to address food insecurity, promote sustainable practices, and foster meaningful collaborations that create lasting, positive change.
By uniting for Earth Day and National Volunteer Month, this Day of Service underscores the transformative power of civic engagement, community partnerships, and innovative change in shaping a more sustainable future. Through volunteerism, collaborative problem-solving, and responsible resource management, Farmingdale State College continues its commitment to addressing hunger, nurturing sustainable practices, and building stronger, more resilient communities on Long Island.
The active participation of community partners exemplifies the powerful role of multi-stakeholder alliances.
