Polls and Poltergeists

Polls and Poltergeists: A Halloween Election Forum

Are you "frightened" of this election cycle?

Don’t be scared of politics! Join us for an engaging panel and Q&A session featuring political scientists and historians from the Department of History, Politics, and Geography. The panelists will examine the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election and provide important context by exploring two key questions: "How did we get here?" and "Where are we going?" They will discuss the constitutional origins of presidential elections and how recent party realignments have influenced the current electoral landscape. They will also discuss voter perceptions of women of color and the implications of early voting in swing states.

The panelists are Dr. Tori Smith, Assistant Professor of Political Science; Dr. Michael Motta, Associate Professor of Political Science; Dr. Stephen Patnode, Professor of History; and Dr. Chris Malone, Professor of Political Science and Associate Provost.
