Cantando Corridos Talk: Short Reflections on Heritage, Music, & History
From the Mexican Revolution and borderland smuggler ballads to the pop stars of the present, the Mexican corrido, a folk song tradition, has thrived as a way of defying borders and sharing stories excluded from “official” historical narratives. The Department of Modern Languages invites you to join us for a talk by Dr. Zachary Campbell about the dynamic role of the corrido in modern Mexican history.
