Eleanor Fapohunda Colloquium Series

Dr. Shannon Fanning, "#WearAMaskNY: tactical communication During a Global Pandemic."

During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, over 600 New Yorkers submitted videos as part of a state-sponsored PSA competition intended to support masking. Based on her forthcoming book chapter, Dr. Fanning's work examines the five video finalists and the strategies and tactics used to bring organizations in power and everyday users together to advance each of their causes.

The School of Arts & Sciences Colloquium Series was established in 2004 by the late Dr. Eleanor Fapohunda, Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences, to enable our faculty to share their scholarly pursuits with their colleagues by giving presentations that are accessible, engaging, and interesting to faculty, staff, and students representing the wide range of academic backgrounds of our School.
