Maya Mold Made

Maya Mold Made is the title of Dr. Mark Van Stone's latest book in which he presents a collection of 208 ancient clay figurine molds from the late Maya Classic period (ca. AD 730-830).

Once used in the mass-manufacture of musical figurines for ceremonial use and affordable to a wide audience, the molds are now in the collection of the Ruta Maya Foundation in Guatemala. Dr. Van Stone will present his research in an engaging, visual lecture. Funded by Artist & Lecturers Program.
