Migrant Art and the “New Italians.” Redefining Italian Identity

To celebrate the Italian Heritage Month, the Department of Modern Languages invites you to a talk with Dr. Vincenzo Selleri, Assistant Professor of Italian titled Migrant Art and the “New Italians.” Redefining Italian Identity.

Italy is usually imagined as a culturally homogenous country, a white Catholic nation. In recent years, though, migration fluxes have brought about a real demographic revolution. A new generation of Italians is producing music, films and literature that are a testimony to a changing Italian identity. Join us to discover a surprisingly culturally diverse Italia!
