Heart Screen Civic Engagement Opportunity for Nurses

Nursing Students:

Participating in one civic engagement event through Farmingdale State College's Nursing department has been a requirement for all nursing students prior to graduating. Historically, there have been many events each semester but with Covid these events have been postponed or eliminated altogether. Those that have remained have requested that Farmingdale State College Nursing Students participate in their community events and we take pride in this! These events have proven to be excellent learning opportunities for nursing students to sharpen their skills while giving back to the community. 

We have one civic engagement opportunity this semester. 

Heart Screen

Date: April 2, 2022

Place: Walter G. O'Connell Copiague High School 1100 Dixon Avenue Copiague, NY

Time: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

During this event you will learn how to perform an EKG and provide heart screening to members of the community. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and give back to the community. 

We are in need of 8 students. The first 8 who respond will be considered.

Please note that faculty from the Nursing department will be supervising this event.
