Business Management Forum: Women in Business

On November 17th the Business Management Department will be hosting a Business Management forum about Women in Business. We will have three professionals who will speak at our virtual event about their experience in the workforce.

Our Speakers:

Elizabeth Vaughan

Elizabeth brings over 30 years of experience in conceptual interior design development to many types of public and private real estate projects. She founded In-Site Interior Design to offer design excellence to business owners and entrepreneurs, to assist in analyzing and creating project requirements and budgets, and to create spaces that meet the design challenges of the site and program. With her design team, she has brought finesse and clarity to their clients' projects, garnering awards along the way. Elizabeth also spearheaded the creation of the Home Couture Collection, an e-commerce home décor product line to bring good design, quality and ease of one-stop shopping to the residential market. She is an alumnus of the Parsons School of Design and the State University of NY at Albany. She is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Design, the Long Island Builders Institute and an Associate Member of the Society of American Registered Architects.

Jennifer Ackerson

Jennifer Ackerson, President of ALON Marketing Group/New York, is a 25+ year veteran of the tourism industry with direct experience working with all tourism business categories. Jennifer has an excellent understanding of tourism, the travel trade, and the visitor dynamic resulting in successful strategic tourism business development for both individual tourism businesses and destinations.

In 2000, Jennifer founded ALON Marketing Group, a respected tourism sales and marketing consultancy with a focus on business-to-business, travel-trade client relationship building. ALON cultivates tourism businesses for effective strategic marketing, business development through new revenue streams partnerships, and operational initiatives. ALON is adept at providing the necessary resources and knowledge needed to run profitable, growing tourism businesses/organizations.

Michelle Gilbert

Michelle Gilbert is an Alumni of Farmingdale's Business Management Program, and also holds a Masters in Leadership from CUNY SPS. She has experience building and developing programs within Higher Education/Career Development, HighedEd tech sales, and more recently a Client Success Director at Lloyd Staffing.
