I invite you to submit nominations for the prestigious Distinguished Faculty Ranks
program and nominations for the Chancellor's Awards for Excellence.
Distinguished Faculty Ranks
Only faculty members holding the rank of full librarian or full professor are eligible.
The faculty selected under this program represent the State University's recognition
of consummate professionalism, groundbreaking scholarship, exceptional instruction
and service contributions that are broad and significant. The four categories of Distinguished
Faculty Ranks are, Distinguished Professorship, Distinguished Service, Distinguished
Teaching and Distinguished Librarian. Here are SUNY's criteria.
In addition to SUNY’s criteria, the local Selection Committee requires demonstrated
leadership in the production of at least two refereed artistic or scientific accomplishments,
accepted grants, or publications in a refereed environment (including but not limited
to) academic journals, conference proceedings, trade journals, books, and online publications,
within six years of their nomination. Additionally, nominees must be previous recipients
of a Chancellor’s Award for Excellence.
Chancellor's Awards for Excellence
Recipients of these awards embody SUNY's highest standards and serve as role models
for the entire academic community. The awards provide SUNY-wide recognition in the
- Faculty Service
- Professional Service
- Scholarship and Creative Activities

Faculty Service, Librarianship, Teaching and Scholarship and Creative Activities to
be tenured faculty members or non-tenure-track faculty (not preceded by Visiting)
who have worked a minimum of eight years at Farmingdale. Faculty nominated for Teaching
or Adjunct Teaching must submit student evaluations in the form of student questionnaires
