On-campus Demonstration this Week
To the Campus Community:
On Thursday, October 24, there is an on-campus demonstration planned that has been
scheduled consistent with FSC’s policies and procedures and with the support of relevant
campus departments, including the Office of Student Activities, Dean of Students,
and University Police.
As an institution of higher education, we support opportunities for members of our
campus community to express and share their views through balanced and peaceful means,
and we welcome empathetic and civic discourse on the issues facing our society today.
These are both our rights and our responsibilities as members of an academic community
and as U.S. citizens.
FSC’s Freedom of Expression resource page includes links to policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth by the College to
ensure a safe and productive environment so that the work of our home institution
continues without disruption. The page also includes links to our many resources for
student concerns, advocacy, and support.
I thank you in advance for your support in fostering a campus culture in which our
different views can be recognized and acknowledged in thoughtful, respectful, and
peaceful ways.
