Tutoring is Open for the Spring Semester!
Sent on behalf of the Center for Academic Success & Tutoring
Dear Faculty:
The snowbanks are piled high, and we have six more weeks of winter; however, the spring
term is officially underway. I hope everyone had a wonderful start to the semester.
Tutoring is now open! We are pleased to have expanded our current course offerings
in the Center for Academic Success & Tutoring (CAST), while prioritizing the hiring of multilingual tutors. Our centers offer individual
tutoring both online and on campus to all registered students.
CAST also offers the following services:
- Academic Success Workshops
- Peer Academic Coaching
- 24/7 Online Tutoring through Net Tutor
Students in advanced courses can also attend activity hour sessions in Chemistry,
Anatomy and Physiology, and Biology to refresh beginner concepts. Finally, students
interested in learning or practicing a new language for academic enrichment can meet
with a tutor. Students who receive an incomplete can receive support in order to catch
up. We are happy to support any student in any class.
The Writing Center offers:
- Bilingual Spanish/English and Cantonese/English writing sessions
- 24/7 Drop-off service
- Writers' Cafe events
- Workshops on artificial intelligence, research, and writing with the Library and English
and Humanities department.
The Math Learning Center offers:
- Walk-in tutoring
- Group tutoring
- Remote evenings and weekends
This flyer outlines the services offered by the centers.
Thank you for sharing this information with your students. My office is located in
CAST, and I look forward to working with all of you again this semester! My door is
always open.
Warmly,
Alicia Brienza
