To the Campus Community:
I am proud to announce that five FSC students have received SUNY Chancellor’s Awards
for Student Excellence. The winners are:

programs and is on track to graduate in May 2022 with Latin honors. In addition to
her academic achievements, she is a peer tutor and president of the IEEE club. She
is currently doing an internship with Central Semiconductors Corporation after previously
completing a summer internship with National Grid.

plans to become a physician. Delmy is a DACA student who has excelled at FSC while
also juggling jobs, mentorship positions, and assisting her family. Delmy’s leadership
on campus is clearly shown through her involvement with the Collegiate Science and
Technology Program (CSTEP), which provides resources for underrepresented STEM students.
She has offered hours of tutoring and mentorship to first-year and sophomore CSTEP
students.
The Chancellor’s Award winners were honored at a ceremony on Wednesday, April 26 in
Saratoga Springs, NY. Senior Vice President and Provost Laura Joseph attended the
ceremony.
In reading their brief biographies you can understand why we refer to FSC as an engine
of opportunity. I am extremely proud of each of these students, and of those who have
helped them succeed. These awards reflect very positively on the quality of our student
body and the initiative they demonstrate in their academic and community pursuits.
Congratulations to each of them.
