To Faculty and Staff:
Farmingdale State College is pleased to announce a new and exciting relationship with
the Estee Lauder Companies and our campus affiliated corporation Broad Hollow Bioscience
Park (BHBP). This public-private partnership is the culmination of efforts that began
in 2019 when Estee Lauder expressed interest in space at BHBP. Ultimately a multi-layered
Strategic Alliance Agreement was put in place that will provide meaningful and lasting
benefit to the College beyond any previous partnerships enabled by this campus affiliate.
The initial agreement is for a five-year term and includes a lease for 40,000 ft2 of space in BHBP as well as $1,750,000 in funding that will be directed to the Farmingdale
College Foundation in support of campus scholarships and programs. The agreement includes
two five-year options for renewal on both the space and the campus funding and will
also afford internship opportunities for students and potential collaborative opportunities
for faculty.
As the newest anchor tenant in BHBP, Estee Lauder will occupy the majority of 1 Bioscience
Park Drive which has stood dormant for several years and will now be home to over
30 research and development jobs. While Estee Lauder has a strong track record of
collaboration with higher education this is the first time they have co-located a
facility on a college campus.
FSC would like to thank our partners at SUNY, the Research Foundation for SUNY, Cold
Spring Harbor Laboratory, Empire State Development Corporation, and the Broad Hollow
Bioscience Park for having the vision and tenacity to bring this exciting partnership
to fruition.
