December 17, 2021
To Faculty and Staff:
As we conclude the semester we find that COVID numbers are once again on the rise.
We urge you to be safe and take the proper precautions to protect yourself, your family,
and our colleagues this holiday season.
Please continue to wear a mask, even if you are fully vaccinated. It is especially
important to do so when indoors. This has proven to be the most effective way of preventing
the spread of the disease.
As always, hand washing, using sanitizer and, where possible, maintaining social distancing
are all good practices. We are all tired of dealing with COVID. It is very easy to
become complacent, but the latest variant is even more contagious and we must remain
vigilant.
Finally, I understand that many of you were looking forward to rekindling the tradition
of having an office holiday party. It has been a very difficult year and we would
all like nothing more than to get together, share some good cheer, and enjoy some
downtime with our colleagues. I would urge you to rethink any of the gatherings you
may have scheduled for next week. I know many of you have already changed and/or cancelled
plans out of an abundance of caution. Although all of us enjoy attending these casual
gatherings, please keep in mind that doing so may result in an even more challenging
start to 2022.
Thank you for all you do for our College. My best to you and yours this holiday season.
