To the Campus Community:
Effective immediately, Farmingdale State College will require all students, staff,
faculty, and guests attending indoor campus events and activities to provide valid
proof of a completed COVID vaccine series or proof of a negative COVID test. Results
must be from either a PCR test conducted within 72 hours of the event start time or
a rapid antigen test that is time stamped as completed within four hours of the event
start time. All tests must be performed by a medical provider; at home tests will
not be accepted. The College’s indoor masking requirement remains in effect.
We are implementing this requirement to assure the safest possible campus environment.
Factors leading to this decision include Governor Hochul’s recent declaration of a
state of emergency, an increase in the percentage of positive tests on Long Island,
and the discovery of a new variant of COVID.
This policy applies to our upcoming Commencement exercises, campus tours and other
admissions events, as well as all indoor athletic competition.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
