To Faculty and Staff:
I am pleased to invite you to nominate candidates for the Farmingdale Foundation Excellence
Awards. The Foundation is once again funding these awards for both faculty and professional
staff.
- Full-time and Part-time Term Faculty will be recognized for Excellence in Classroom
Teaching and in Service to Strategic Partners
- Full-time and Part-time Term Professional Staff will be recognized for Excellence
in Professional Service to Farmingdale State College and in Service to Strategic Partners
In accordance with the Foundation’s by-laws, the selection process will be overseen
by an Advisory Council which is comprised of the four academic deans, four assistant
deans, and is chaired by the Provost. This Council will review and recommend candidates
to receive these celebrated awards.
To nominate a candidate(s) for an award, prepare a nomination letter, not to exceed
two pages, which addresses the criteria for the specific award as described in the
nomination document. Submit the nomination letter to the nominee’s respective Dean or Vice President by
December 2, 2021. The Deans and Vice Presidents will forward nominations from their
units, in rank order, to the Provost’s Office by December 24 for consideration by
the Advisory Council.
One award will be conferred upon a member of the full-time teaching faculty and one
award bestowed on a member of the full-time non-teaching professional staff. Term
adjunct faculty and part-time term professional staff will be recognized with one
award each. Faculty and staff who have previously received a Farmingdale Foundation
Excellence Award are not eligible for a second.
All awards will be presented at the Center for Teaching, Learning & Technology (CTLT)
Annual Conference on February 11, 2022. Eligibility and selection criteria for the
awards can be found here.
