To the Campus Community:
As we prepare for the fall term, I want to advise you about a realignment of duties
and responsibilities of some Cabinet members.
Effective immediately, Matt Colson, Vice President for Development and Alumni Engagement,
will assume oversight of Marketing and Communications. The alignment of Development
and Communications is common, and Vice President Colson has a great deal of background
in these areas. Matt will work with Katy Tatzel who will now devote exclusive attention
to serving as the College’s Chief Communications and External Relations Officer and
the increasing demands of this critical function. Katy will continue to work directly
with my office and Cabinet members on the numerous regular communications with both
the campus and external constituencies. Katy and Matt will collaborate to further
the Farmingdale brand, sustain our success in marketing, and raise our profile both
locally and regionally. To clearly distinguish functions and responsibilities, the
area formerly known as Institutional Advancement will now become Marketing and Communications.
With the pending departure of Admissions Director Jeff Levine, Enrollment Management
will temporarily report to Executive Vice President and CFO, Greg O’Connor. We expect
to fill the new Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Engagement position
near the start of the fall term. I have asked Greg to meet with our Admissions staff
as we continue our highly successful enrollment efforts and prepare for transitioning to the incoming vice president.
These changes will strengthen each area and better position the College to both raise
our profile and recruit promising students in the coming semesters.
