Re: Internal Control Program
As outlined in the College’s Internal Control Program, effective internal control systems are crucial to the College’s success in achieving
its mission and goals. This was especially true this past March, as the campus’ internal
control systems were tested like never before. Since the onset of the pandemic, additional
controls have been implemented to ensure the safety of faculty, staff, and students.
These include: increased cleaning efforts, working remotely, implementation of COVID-19
safety guidelines and campus-wide COVID testing. With many employees working remotely,
IT controls have also been improved to better protect our data and to avoid cyber-attacks
and security breaches. Fortunately, our strong control systems, along with the unwavering
commitment of our employees, have enabled the College to achieve its goals while considering
new controls in response to the pandemic and its threats.
While the campus has demonstrated that it has an effective system of internal controls in place, we want to take this opportunity to remind you that should you suspect fraud, waste, abuse, or irregular activity within the campus community you can call the Fraud Hotline at 934-420-2083 or visit the fraud web page to anonymously report concerns.
I ask that you continue to join me in our commitment to internal controls, as they
function most effectively with the cooperation of all employees.
If you have any questions regarding Internal Control, please contact the Internal Control Office at 934-420-5688.
