Stay on Track for Graduation
Dear Farmingdale State College Juniors and Seniors:
As we approach the end of the semester, I want to congratulate each of you on the
progress you’ve made and the commitment you’ve shown throughout your academic journey.
Whether you are nearing the finish line or preparing to enter your final year, now
is the perfect time to ensure that you are on track for graduation.
To support you in this important process, please take a moment to review the key steps
every graduating student must complete:
Steps to Graduate:
- Review your degree audit (DegreeWorks).
Confirm that all major, minor, general education, and elective requirements are completed
or in progress. If you notice any discrepancies, connect with your academic advisor
as soon as possible.
- Meet with your academic advisor.
Your advisor can verify your progress, answer questions, and help you plan any remaining
coursework. Early communication prevents surprises later.
- Apply for graduation.
If you expect to graduate at the end of the fall 2025 or winter 2026 semester, the
deadline to apply is Friday, November 21, 2025. Spring 2026 and summer 2026 graduates
must apply is Friday, March 27, 2026. Students must formally apply for graduation
by completing the Intent to Graduate Form (ITG). Be sure to submit your application by the published deadline for your intended
graduation term. This must be completed whether you plan to attend commencement or not.
- Clear any holds on your account.
Financial, library, immunization, and other holds can delay the processing of your
graduation. Please check your account and resolve any outstanding issues promptly.
- Monitor your FSC email.
Important updates regarding commencement will be sent directly to your campus email.
If you’re approved to graduate in fall 2025, winter 2026, spring 2026, or summer 2026,
you will receive an email from Tassel containing your personalized Commencement registration
link. The deadline to complete registration is Monday, April 27, 2026. Completing the ITG does not automatically register you to participate in the commencement
ceremony.
- Confirm your eligibility.
Please allow three to five days after submitting your ITG before logging into OASIS to verify your name is on the Candidates List. If your name is not on the list, but
you’ve completed all the necessary steps to graduate, please contact the Registrar’s
Office at regoffice@farmingdale.edu.
As you finalize your projects, complete assignments, and prepare for final exams,
I want to offer my sincere encouragement. The end of the semester can be demanding,
but it is also a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate how far you’ve come.
