Important Safety Update and Support Resources
To the Campus Community:
I am writing to you today to address the alleged assault that recently occurred on
campus. First and foremost, our thoughts are with the student, and we are ensuring
they receive the support they need and that their privacy is strictly respected.
We are thankful for the partnership of the Suffolk County Police Department, who immediately
alerted Farmingdale State College University Police upon receiving the 911 call. FSC
University Police swiftly responded to assist our student and provide immediate care.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office is now actively investigating. We want
to assure our community that there was no threat to campus, and all protocols were
carefully followed, in alignment with Clery act and New York state reporting policies
and procedures.
We understand that an incident like this impacts our entire campus. FSC provides dedicated
support services available to all members of our campus community including:
Campus Mental Health Services provides free, confidential counseling to support emotional well-being and help in
navigating stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and adjustment to college
life.

We are committed to the ongoing education and safety of our campus community. On Wednesday,
November 4, at 11 a.m. in Campus Center Ballroom C, we will hold an informal session
entitled "Understanding Title IX" that will address campus reporting processes, support
structures, and advocacy resources. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to
participate.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the resources above if you or someone
you know needs support.
