The Theater at Roosevelt Hall
Dear Colleagues:
In anticipation of the reopening of Roosevelt Hall—possibly by the fall semester,
based on our best estimate—I want to share our plans for the building's 350-seat theater.
The theater will open as a new performance space, bringing an array of programming
to the community, including curated presentations such as live theatrical experiences,
concerts, films, and guest spotlights. Ticketed events will create a venue for the
public to experience programming that is thought-provoking and entertaining, while
providing an additional revenue stream for the College.
The theater and newly renovated multipurpose room will also expand our portfolio of
facilities available to external organizations for conferences and events. Our increased
collaboration and engagement with alumni, corporate and community partners, and the
public, will help raise FSC's visibility across the region.
Jon Goldstein, who many of you know in his role in Marketing and Communications, will
serve as the inaugural director of the theater, working closely with me and our Office
of Events Management on development, programming, and execution.
Stay tuned for updates as planning progresses on this new initiative for our campus
and the greater Long Island community.
