Academic Year-End Message
Dear FSC Rams:
It is hard to believe that the 2025–26 academic year is drawing to a close and that
Commencement—where more than 2,000 graduates will begin their next chapter—is already
upon us this Friday. With summer just around the corner, I want to take a moment to
thank each of you for making this another remarkable year at Farmingdale State College.
This year has been one of extraordinary momentum and achievement, with important accolades
going to our students, faculty, and staff. Among this year’s many accomplishments were the launch of several new undergraduate
and graduate programs, the opening of our Office of Professional and Continuing Education,
and visits from distinguished guests ranging from Olympic gold medalists to actor
Gaten Matarazzo of Stranger Things. We also began awarding scholarships made possible
through our generous alumnus and friend, Murray Pasternack.
Our student-athletes celebrated conference titles and championship success, five Farmingdale
students received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence, and our faculty
continued advancing important research and creative activity. We celebrated significant
institutional milestones, including our Carnegie re-designation as a Community Engaged
Campus. We also launched a student advisory council, welcomed 27 new faculty colleagues,
and hosted a highly successful Legislative Breakfast that showcased the outstanding
work and talent of our students.
As we conclude this academic year, I want you to know how much your energy, perseverance,
and dedication continue to inspire us. Whether you are returning in the fall or preparing
to graduate, each of you contributes to the strength and spirit of Farmingdale State
College.
To our graduating students: congratulations and best wishes as you begin your next
journey. You have made us proud, and I know you will continue to do so in the years
ahead.
I wish all of you a restful, enjoyable, and rejuvenating summer.
