Potential LIRR Work Stoppage

To the Campus Community:

As you may have heard, there is a potential strike by the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) that could begin on Saturday, May 16, impacting your ability to get to campus. We are monitoring developments and considering options for students, faculty, and staff with upcoming final exams.

Those who rely on the LIRR to travel to campus should consider alternate transportation options, including Suffolk County Transit and NICE (Nassau Inter-County Express) bus systems that both make stops on our campus.

We will share further updates as more information becomes available regarding the potential work stoppage.
