Rams Ready for NCAA Championships and Skyline Title Runs
To the Campus Community:
Farmingdale State College Athletics continues to excel in postseason competition,
with three programs earning berths into the NCAA Division III Championships and both
the baseball and softball teams competing in the Skyline Conference Championships
this weekend.
The men’s golf team will travel to Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida for the NCAA
Championship
May 12-15 after capturing the Skyline Conference Championship in October. The Rams
are one of 43 teams selected to compete in the national championship field.
The men’s tennis team earned its place in the NCAA Championship following a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory
over Manhattanville in the Skyline Conference Championship match. FSC will face Roger
Williams in the first round on Friday in Brunswick, Maine.
Women’s lacrosse will also continue its postseason run in the NCAA Championship after defeating top-seeded
Merchant Marine, 10-8, to win the Skyline Conference title. Junior goalkeeper Giavanna
Stamatelo earned Most Outstanding Player honors, while Carly Livingston was named
Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Year. The Rams will take on Wooster in
the first round on Saturday in York, Pennsylvania.
In addition, the baseball and softball teams continue Skyline Conference Championship play this weekend as both programs
compete for conference titles and potential NCAA tournament berths. The baseball team
enters the playoffs as the No. 1 seed and host of the double-elimination tournament
May 7-9 after winning 18 straight games. Softball also advanced to postseason play
as the No. 2 seed and will compete at top-seeded Manhattanville for the title this
weekend.
Congratulations to all our student-athletes, coaches, and staff on their continued
success. We proudly support the Rams as they represent Farmingdale State College in
postseason competition.
Go Rams!
