To the Campus Community:
Another campus shooting. Another senseless loss of life, last week at Kentucky State
University and yesterday at Brown University. I know our hearts go out to the families
and friends of those lost and our hopes for healing to those who lie wounded.
Words like these are being shared across the nation, but so too are calls for change.
There is legislation that can make a difference. This waste, these losses need not
be inevitable. Futures are lost and families are devastated. We can promote change.
We have a voice.
Our Farmingdale State College community is strong. University Police and their leadership
are among the best, and we are fortunate for their steadfast expertise and presence
on our campus. But we all have a role to play. Please remember that, as a community,
we have responsibilities to each other. If you see something that feels wrong, please
let our Police know.
These will be difficult times for those deeply impacted by the tragedies in Rhode
Island and Kentucky. Keep your thoughts with them, especially with the holiday season
upon us. Stay FSC strong.
