Proud to Be a Ram
Dear FSC Rams,
Last week, especially Friday during my official inauguration, I more deeply than ever
realized how very fortunate I am to have landed on this campus that cares so deeply
about this community, and building a better future for our students. Each of last
week’s events further reinforced my perception that our faculty and staff are rooted
in providing the best opportunities possible for our students. The incredible coordination
and planning to put together the week-long celebration took a remarkable team from
all corners of our campus. It was immensely gratifying to see all of us come together
to celebrate so much more than my presidency, but the very fabric that is Farmingdale.
I was truly proud to share the success of our College with my family, friends, and
colleagues from throughout my career and all others from across SUNY and beyond who
joined the festivities.
Collectively, Farmingdale State College is primed to continue to support and expand
on our shared goals and visions. As I noted in my inaugural remarks, "we educate not
for college life but for the life that comes tomorrow." And there, we've done superbly
well. The FSC alumni I mentioned in my remarks reflects who we are and, "who we are"
is exactly why I remain elated to be here and fixated on all we can do for tomorrow.
Thank you to the many of you who sent congratulatory notes, attended the inauguration
or one of the events leading up to my official investment, or just took a moment to
offer good wishes. I am truly humbled and grateful for your support, and am so looking
forward to all we will do together. Don't stop thinking about tomorrow.
Go Rams.
