December 1, 2022
Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to invite you to nominate candidates for the Farmingdale Foundation Excellence
Awards. The Foundation is funding these awards for both full-time and part-time faculty
for Excellence in Classroom Teaching and Strategic Partners.
In accordance with the award procedures set forth by the Foundation, the selection
process for these awards will be overseen by an Advisory Council which is comprised
of the four academic deans, and four assistant deans, and is chaired by the Provost.
This Council will review and recommend candidates to receive these celebrated awards.
To nominate a candidate(s) for an award, prepare a nomination letter, not to exceed
two pages, which addresses the criteria for the specific award as described in the
nomination document. Submit the nomination letter to the nominee’s respective Dean by December 22, 2022. The Deans will forward nominations, in rank order, to the Provost’s Office by January 4, 2023, for
consideration by the Advisory Council.
One award will be conferred upon a member of the full-time teaching faculty and one
award bestowed on a member of the term adjunct faculty. Faculty who have previously received a Farmingdale Foundation Excellence Award are
not eligible for a second.
All awards will be presented at the Faculty Center’s Annual Conference on February
17, 2023. Eligibility and selection criteria for the awards can be found on Aries.
