A Farewell Message at the Close of the Academic Year
Dear Faculty and Staff:
As we bring another academic year to a close, I find myself reflecting not only on
the accomplishments of the past months but also on the many years I’ve had the privilege
to serve this remarkable institution. This message is especially meaningful to me,
as it marks my final communication to you as Provost.
It has been the honor of a lifetime to work alongside such dedicated educators and
committed staff. Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated milestones, and
continued to uphold the values and mission that define Farmingdale State College.
I am deeply proud of what we have achieved – advancing academic excellence, fostering
innovation, and building a more inclusive and supportive community.
As I prepare to retire, I do so with immense gratitude and confidence in the future
of this institution. The spirit of collaboration and resilience that defines our campus
gives me great hope for what lies ahead. I look forward to watching from afar as you
continue to grow as an institution of higher education that leads the way for the
State University of New York and continues to inspire student success.
Thank you for the trust, the memories, and the opportunity to serve. I will carry
this chapter of my life with me always.
Wishing you all a restful summer and continued success in the years to come.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Laura Joseph, EdD
Senior Vice President and Provost
