Associate Dean Appointment Announcement
Dear Colleagues:
I am delighted to announce the appointment of Susan Conforti, EdD, to the position
of associate dean for the Santmann School of Health Sciences, effective August 25,
2025.
As a valued member of the Farmingdale State College community for the past 25 years,
Dr. Conforti has distinguished herself as a campus leader who works to enrich the
lives of our students, faculty, and staff. She has served as chair of the Medical
Laboratory Science Department and co-chair of the Middle States Commission on Higher
Education Steering Committee. In these roles, Dr. Conforti has demonstrated a strong
commitment to student success through continuous improvement practices, focusing on
institutional achievement and advancement. Her extensive experience managing student
clinical placements, as well as departmental and campus-wide assessment and accreditation
processes, will be instrumental in advancing the School’s strategic vision while supporting
the needs of its students, faculty, and staff.
We also extend our thanks to Dr. Rita Austin for agreeing to serve as acting chair
of the Medical Laboratory Science Department starting in the fall 2025 semester.
