IITG Grant—Call for Proposals
Dear Colleagues:
I am pleased to announce an upcoming call for proposals for the Innovative Instruction
Technology Grants (IITG) that are available through SUNY to provide funding in support
of academic innovation.
I encourage all interested FSC faculty and staff to apply. These grants are designed
to connect beyond departmental and campus boundaries to pilot, share, and scale up
transformative teaching and learning practices.
The two-stage proposal solicitation is detailed on the IITG website. To apply, please create an account in the SUNY online grant management website. The key dates are as follows:
- Innovative Instruction Technology Grants (IITG) program Request for Proposals
- February 14, 2025 11:59 p.m.: Stage One Ideation Submission Form due
- No later than March 3, 2025: RFP Application Portal opens
- March 30, 2025 11:59 p.m.: RFP deadline
Announcements of awards will be made during the 2025 SUNY CIT Conference, hosted by
the University at Buffalo. Recipients must follow state and campus procurement policies
and will need to identify local campus administrative and procurement support if a
project requires expenditures prior to funds distribution. As is the tradition with
these SUNY seed fund programs, outcomes must be openly shared under a Creative Commons
license.
In order to receive a letter of support from the campus, applicants must meet with Danielle Apfelbaum, Scholarly Communication Librarian, who will provide guidance and determine the project's
ability to meet the fundamental requirements of the grant. As a long-time reviewer
for IITG, Danielle has a thorough understanding of the reviewer rubric and will be
able to provide applicants with valuable feedback. Danielle may be contacted at 934-420-5586 or danielle.apfelbaum@farmingdale.edu. Once approved, a letter will be generated by my office to be included with the final
grant submission to SUNY.
CAMPUS Review Process:
- Applicants submit the final application and narrative to Danielle Apfelbaum for review
by Thursday, March 20
- Applicants will continue to be responsible for following the grant submission process as outlined by OSPA
- Final grant application to be submitted to SUNY by Sunday, March 30
I am looking forward to another round of successful grant applications in support
of teaching and learning.
Laura Joseph, EdD
Senior Vice President and Provost
