Faculty Survey of Student Engagement
Dear Farmingdale Faculty Members,
A number of our students recently participated in the National Survey of Student Engagement
(NSSE) which collected information about their college experience, how much time they
spend studying, and the types of interactions they have with faculty.
The voice of our faculty members is important in any discussion about student engagement;
for this reason, I encourage you to complete the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement
(FSSE) if you haven’t already done so. FSSE is designed to measure faculty expectations
for student engagement in educational practices that are known to be empirically linked
with high levels of learning and development. It will help to identify areas of strength
and areas that can be improved that will lead to constructive discussions related
to teaching, learning, and the quality of our student's educational experience.
The link to the survey was contained in a survey invitation emailed to you from FSSE
on March 28th. Reminder emails, which also contain a link to the survey, were sent
on April 3rd, 6th, and 12th. Please refer to one of those emails for the survey link.
For more information about FSSE, please visit https://nsse.indiana.edu/fsse/. Please be assured that your responses will be confidential and are anonymous to
anyone at Farmingdale. I also want you to know that your participation is voluntary,
though I hope you will respond.
Thank you for considering this important request. If you have already filled out
the survey, your participation is greatly appreciated.
