October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Cybersecurity threats remain a high-risk area for institutions of higher education
as attackers vie to steal valuable data such as log-in credentials, personal identities,
and/or financial information. Even when facing this seemingly constant threat there
are many ways we can protect our information and our networks.
The Farmingdale State College annual cybersecurity awareness training program is a
requirement for all employees and is designed to protect our campus networks and computing
infrastructure and also provide useful information that we can use in our personal
lives as well. This year’s training consists of six modules focusing on the latest
and most prevalent threats to you as an individual and to our college.
Early next week, you will receive an email from KnowBe4 (from email address itsecurity@farmingdale.edu) with a link to the training website (farmingdale.edu/knowbe4) inviting you to begin
the training program. You will need to log-in using your FSC credentials through the
SUNY Federated log-in screen prior to beginning the training. The training is designed
to take less than an hour to complete.
All employees who have access to the Farmingdale State College network are required to complete this training by November 1, 2023. If you have any questions about this training, please contact the FSC Helpdesk at
x2754 or helpdesk@farmingdale.edu.
In addition to the training, please review the additional guidance provided on our
Information Technology Security and Safe Computing site.
Thank you for your attention and for participating in this training. Each of us play
a vital role in securing our campus.
