Microsoft Outage
To the Campus:
As many of you may be aware, there has been a critical worldwide Microsoft issue which
is also affecting our campus. The problem was caused by an automatic update delivered
by our security-monitoring software, CrowdStrike. We assure you that this was not
a malicious attack and appears to have caused no data degradation. The issue is currently
impacting many individuals' ability to log into their desktop computers, access Wi-Fi,
and use several of our locally-hosted services. Our email system remains operational
but may also experience periodic connectivity issues.
The Information Technology team is actively working with SUNY System Administration
and CrowdStrike to resolve the issue but we do not yet have an estimate on timing.
We will keep the campus updated with messages displayed on our Support Portal, which can be accessed from any browser-based device.
