FSC Parking and Roadways

To the Campus:
Welcome back!! We have been hard at work this summer updating a number of our buildings,
facilities, and grounds and as you return to campus you will notice many projects
still underway. Specifically, the parking lots adjacent to Laffin Hall (Lots 8 and
9) are nearly completed and are scheduled to reopen on Monday, August 29. In the meantime,
access to Orchard Hall is limited to the Route 110 side of campus.
In addition, on Friday, August 26, we will close the Melville Road entrance to campus
as well as one exit lane in order to put the finishing coat of asphalt on the roadway.
When the parking lot reopens we have one final project to complete. I’m attaching
a diagram showing the completed Parking Phase 3 construction with detail about the
temporary closure of the 3 way speed table that connects the Laffin entrance and parking
Lot 9A (Staff/Visitors) with parking Lots 8 & 9. The secondary entrance from Melville
Road will be open to Laffin Hall and the loop road towards Orchard Hall but will not
yet connect to the main road near Nold Hall. Similarly, the Melville Road entrance
by Nold Hall will be open, with admittance to 8 & 9 but exit from these lots will
be limited to Cipriani Drive.
This will not impact access to parking Lots 8 and 9 from the Melville Entrance or
the start of shuttle bus service at Laffin Hall on Monday, August 29.
Finally, work on Lot 1A will commence on August 29. Access to the Childcare Center
will not be disrupted but will be limited to the 110 entrance. Access to Orchard Hall
parking lots will be limited to the Melville Road entrance. See attached map.
