Introducing the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (OURS)

To the Campus Community:
The newly established Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (OURS) supports students and faculty mentors interested in undergraduate research, scholarship,
experiential learning, and professional development.
OURS provides students with opportunities to work with faculty mentors, explore research
experiences, participate in scholarly activities, and learn about scholarships and
fellowships.
Programs and initiatives include:
- Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program (URAP)
- Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) opportunities
- Summer Undergraduate Research Institute (SURI)
- IGNITE student symposium
- Faculty mentoring program
- Undergraduate research microcredential
Furthermore, OURS assists faculty mentors in finding student research assistants for
their projects and provides faculty with funded research opportunities through SURI.
Faculty mentors can advance their own research while helping students identify areas
of interest, develop research questions, gain hands-on experience, and explore opportunities
within their academic disciplines through meaningful guided mentorship.
