You Are the Jury: Constitution Day 2026 — Thursday, September 17
Sent on behalf of the Office of Community and Civic Engagement
To the Campus Community:
The Office of Community and Civic Engagement, in partnership with the Faculty Center,
invites all students, faculty, and staff to a Constitution Day 2026 event, Just Cause: The Experience. This signature Canamac Productions program will engage all spectators as the jury,
who will decide the fate of the defendant and plaintiff.
Thursday, September 17
10:30 a.m.–12:45 p.m.
Campus Center Ballroom
The experience unfolds in three phases:
- Screening: Watch the film and hear the case as it evolves.
- Deliberation: Canamac facilitator Gina Taliaferro guides the room through the evidence and the
arguments.
- The Verdict: You and your fellow jurors reach a decision together, out loud, in real time.
A jury room asks something of us that few spaces do: stay in the conversation, listen
to people who see the case differently, and decide together. This is in the spirit
of our Civic Discourse and Intellectual Square Initiative, and all students, faculty,
and staff are encouraged to attend.
For more information and to RSVP, visit the event page. You can learn more about the production at JustCauseTheExperience.com.
As a reminder, September 15 is is National Voter Registration Day. Students can register to vote from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at our table at the Involvement
Fair.
