Farmingdale State College Undergraduate Research Journal
Sent on behalf of the FSC President's Student Leadership Council
Dear FSC Students and Alumni:
The Farmingdale State College President’s Student Leadership Council is pleased to
announce the launch of the Farmingdale State College Undergraduate Research Journal,
which will begin accepting submissions for review in Fall 2026.
This new peer-reviewed publication will serve as a student-centered academic platform
dedicated to showcasing original undergraduate research and scholarly work produced
within the FSC community. The journal will provide students with the opportunity to
present their research in a formal academic setting, gain experience with the publication
and peer-review process, and contribute meaningful scholarship to their respective
fields of study. It will also create a space for students and alumni to engage more
deeply with academic inquiry and share their professional and scholarly voices through
publication.
We are especially excited to extend this opportunity to both current students and
alumni whose research or scholarly projects were completed during their time at FSC.
This initiative reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to fostering academic excellence,
intellectual curiosity, and professional growth across disciplines.
The FSC Undergraduate Research Journal will be led by a Board of Editors composed
of members of the President’s Student Leadership Council, with guidance from the FSC
President (a previous long-term journal editor) and support from a faculty Review
Board of well published scholars.
We believe this journal will be particularly valuable for students interested in graduate
study, research-intensive careers, or advanced professional opportunities, as it offers
early exposure to academic publishing while strengthening scholarly and professional
portfolios. Most importantly, the journal represents an important step in cultivating
a stronger culture of research, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary scholarship
at Farmingdale State College.
Additional information, including the formal call for papers and submission guidelines,
will be shared at the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester.
We look forward to seeing the outstanding work our community will contribute and to
celebrating the academic achievements of FSC students and alumni through this exciting
new publication outlet.
Sincerely,
President’s Student Leadership Council
Farmingdale State College
