Call for Nominations: 2026 ACT for Excellence and Student Initiative Scholarship

The College-wide Scholarship and Awards Committee is accepting student self-nominations
for the 2026 ACT for Excellence and Student Initiative Scholarship (ACT AWARD). The
scholarship rewards students for excellence in academic performance and extraordinary
commitment to their campus and/or community. The scholarship amount is $1,000 with
an additional $250 given in their name to the charity of their choice.
Requirements
In addition to being on the Dean's List in the spring 2026 semester, the student must
have played a role in identifying and/or supporting specific needs at FSC or in the
community, and demonstrate a service or solution which addressed that need. Students
must either be graduating in Spring 2026 or expected to graduate from FSC with either
their associate, bachelor’s, or graduate degree in the future.
Please encourage qualified students to apply and offer to provide a letter of support
on their behalf, as each applicant requires two letters of recommendation.
Students can self-nominate via this Google Form and must be logged into their FSC Google account to access the form. Recommendation
letters are sent separately by email to Committee Chair Dr. Wei Shi at shiw1@farmingdale.edu.
The deadline for student nominations and faculty/staff letters of support is end-of-day, May 22, 2026.
