Join the FYE Movement at FSC
Sent on behalf of the Office of First Year and Transfer Year Experience
Dear Colleagues:
The First Year Experience (FYE) 101 course is the shared starting point for our newest
Rams. Students build belonging, discover campus resources, strengthen academic confidence,
link coursework to career goals, as well as connect with faculty and staff.
In fall 2025, an exceptional team of 54 instructors taught 92 course sections for
over 1,600 students. Now, we are building the next cohort of instructors to continue
this impactful work.
We are seeking faculty and staff for fall 2026 who have:
- A bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of three years of professional experience
- A dynamic and engaging classroom presence
- Knowledge of campus resources and services
- A deep commitment to student success
Teaching FYE is an opportunity to:
- Shape students’ first academic experience at FSC
- Build meaningful cross-campus partnerships
- Contribute directly to student retention and momentum
- Join a collaborative community of educators committed to student success
If this sounds like you, please submit the Fall 2026 FYE Course Request Form by March 13.
First time teaching FYE? No problem! We provide training, sample course materials,
a ready-to-use Brightspace shell, and host regular instructor meet-ups to share ideas
and best practices. You’ll be supported every step of the way.
Together, we can ensure every new Ram begins their journey at FSC feeling connected,
confident, and supported from day one. If you would like to learn more before submitting
your request, please contact me at garciabl@farmingdale.edu.
