Call for Nominations: 2026 Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence
Dear Colleagues:
The College-wide Scholarship and Awards Committee is seeking recommendations from
faculty and professional staff for the prestigious SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student
Excellence. Each year, the Chancellor recognizes an elite group of SUNY graduates
for their accomplishments in and out of the classroom. President Prezant will be nominating
up to five FSC students for this award. We need your help to identify the students
most deserving of these awards.
The link to the nomination form is below. All that is required is a brief bio of the
student who graduate(d) between June 2025 and May 2026, and a description of how the
student excels in three or more of the following areas:
- Academics (There is no GPA requirement, but academic excellence is important.)
- Leadership
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice
- Campus Involvement OR Community Service
- Research and Development
- The Arts (Creative or Performing)
To recommend a student, please use this link. Nominations are due end-of-day Friday, January 2, 2026.
We are hoping to consider many candidates, so please nominate any student who you
feel deserves this award. We recognize this is a tough time of year with end-of-semester
responsibilities and winter break. However, this award would be life-changing for
our students!
Send any questions to Wei Shi at shiw1@farmingdale.edu.
Thank you very much. Have a great rest of the semester.
Best,
College-wide Scholarship and Awards Committee
