Goldwater Scholarship Information and Introduction
Dear Faculty:
I'm writing to introduce myself as the new assistant director of the Honors Program
here at FSC. In this role, I am also tasked with developing an Office of External
Scholarships and Fellowships that aims to aid any FSC student in applying for programs
like Fulbright, Goldwater, Gilman, or other similar opportunities. The Honors Program
is excited to take on this responsibility. We look forward to building materials and
offering programs in the coming semesters that will benefit FSC’s entire student body.
Currently, our focus is on the 2026 Goldwater Scholarship. The Goldwater Scholarship Program—one of the oldest and most prestigious national
scholarships in the natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics—seeks to identify,
encourage, and financially support college sophomores and juniors who show exceptional
promise of becoming this nation’s next generation of research leaders in these fields.
Application to the Goldwater Scholarship is open to students of any major who meet
eligibility requirements and wish to pursue a research career (not a practical career) in STEM.
Virtual information sessions for interested faculty and students will be held on the
following dates:
