Hazing Prevention
To Faculty and Staff:
Farmingdale State College remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a safe
and respectful environment for all. As part of this commitment, we maintain a zero-tolerance
policy toward hazing.
In December 2024, the Stop Campus Hazing Act was signed into law, mandating stronger prevention and reporting measures across
colleges and universities. In response, Farmingdale State College has implemented
a comprehensive Hazing Policy and Procedure to align with these new requirements.
We encourage all faculty and staff to review this policy, which includes:
- A clear definition and examples of hazing
- Information on student organizations where hazing may occur
- Guidance on how to report hazing incidents
- Details on the investigation process
- Protections related to amnesty and retaliation
Reports of hazing should be directed to the Dean of Students or through the Student Concerns Portal.
To further support our prevention efforts, the College is offering free, campus-wide hazing prevention training for all faculty, staff, and students. This training is available through Prevent Zone, accessible with your FSC credentials. We highly recommend completing the module
at the bottom of the web page titled:
“Hazing Prevention: It’s Everyone’s Responsibility – Faculty and Staff Edition 2025–2026.”

prevention initiatives, please visit the College’s Hazing Prevention webpage.
