FYE 101 Instructor Recruitment for Fall 2025—Deadline Extended

Dear Colleagues:
FSC is currently spearheading the development of a new Office of First Year and Transfer
Year Experience to best serve our newest Rams in their transition to college.
As one of the few common experiences among all FSC students, FYE 101 is vital to the
ongoing growth and vibrancy of this new First Year Experience (FYE) initiative. Therefore, we want to invite YOU to consider joining our tremendous FYE 101 team.
Building on the foundation established over prior semesters, this past fall, a remarkable
team of 39 faculty and professional staff members taught 79 unique sections of the
First Year Experience course (FYE 101). This was the first semester ever that the
FYE 101 course has been taught across all four schools, serving over 1,600 of the
1,901 first-time, full-time students. Thanks to the incredible educators who stepped
up to launch this course for all FSC students, this scaled operation of student support
was a great success. We have learned so much about what works well and what we need
to continue to improve to best serve our amazing students. A huge shout out to all
the faculty and professional staff who participated, as none of our impact would have
been possible without their commitment to students.
As we prepare to welcome the next incoming class of first-year students, we need participation
from faculty and staff who have:
- A master’s degree
- A commitment to student success
- Dynamic energy in the classroom
- Knowledge of campus services and resources
- Passion for student success
If FYE sounds like a good fit for you, please submit the Fall 2025 First Year Experience Course Request form by March 14.
Together we can continue to co-create FYE as a site for students to experience deep
connection to information, resources, faculty and staff like you, and their fellow
